Goodbye Dumbo!

Although I have only stayed in Dumbo for a short period time, t it was a total unique experience. After all, staying in a spacious loft apartment in a 7-floor walk up, with a recycling company on the first floor does not happen to everyone. The tenants who are mostly artists even call their own building "trash mansion". I am not sure if I should find that charming or cynical, however, it certainly is one way to deal with the co-existing rats and roaches in this neighborhood.
But not even those can keep away all the world famous photographers and filmmakers that use these cobble-stoned streets under the Manhattan Bridge as their daily studio.
Well, you can't blame them. I loved it here!

This carousel from 1922 can be seen in a studio at 56 Water Street. In Spring 2011, this beautiful carousel will be set between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge overlooking the spectacular harbor and the lower Manhattan skyline.
